After buying a new phone, many people leave the old phone unattended or sell it. Older phones can be used if desired. Older phones, including temporary Google home speakers, can be used to monitor baby activity. Most importantly, older phones can also be used as security cameras. Here are tips on how to create a security camera from an old phone.
First step: Launch the Security Camera app on older phones
In the beginning, any security camera app should be selected. Most apps have native streaming, cloud streaming, recording and storage of footage. Everything should be done with one of those apps. Then the video or pictures streaming from the old phone, which is installed as a security camera in the room, can be viewed on the new phone.
The most important app in this case is Alfred. The app runs on both Android and iOS. It should be installed on both new and old phones. After launching the app on a new phone, swipe the startup button and press Start. Then select Viewer and go to Next. Then you need to sign in with your Google Account.
Older phones have to work in the same process. However, instead of Viewer, the camera has to be selected. Sign in with the same Google Account as before.
Step 2: Select camera placement
After fixing everything, the camera has to be selected. Most of the time, cameras are placed in the front of the house or in the back, in important places. IP camera can also be used as a baby monitor if you have a baby at home.
If there are too many old phones left at home, it can be installed as a security camera at your convenience.
Third step: Camera placement and charging
A tripod or suction cup can be used to conveniently place the camera. Since the camera will be streaming the phone within 24 hours, the charge is high. So the camera should be placed near the charging point.
