Robotic tail will protect the balance of the elderly

রোবোটিক লেজ

Japan has a large number of older people. Older people have problems with balance while moving. Thinking about them, researchers from the University of Kyo are making a robotic tail. The robotic tail will protect the balance of the elderly during the movement of animals like a leopard tiger protects the balance with the tail while racing or moving. The information was released in a report by Reuters.

Researchers say the robotic tail is actually a device. Its name is Arch. It acts as a pendulum. It is fastened with special tools at the waist.

Researcher Junichi Nabeshima says the tail is positioned opposite when the robotic tail moves. The tail protects its balance in the opposite direction when the body is tilted to one side.

Japan is working on ways to keep older people functioning. Japan is leaning toward different technologies where different states depend on migrants to raise working people.

Researcher Nabeshima says the robotic tail can be rotated vertically by employing four artificial muscles and air pressure. They are still looking for ways to further develop this robotic tail in the laboratory. It aims to make it a daily activity
